Luis García: "The work of the players has been extraordinary. We feel very comfortable playing with our people."
"We scored a very good goal. I would like to highlight the referee's work today; I think the VAR put him in a tough spot, and he had enough personality not to call it," the coach stated.
Luis García addressed the media who gathered in the press room of the Gran Canaria Stadium after the victory against CD Leganés.
Luis began the press conference by dedicating a few words to Elías: "The happiness is even greater because today our friend Elías visited us, who five months ago went to Madrid for a bone marrow transplant. The team wants to dedicate this victory to him and his family."
Some of his statements:
"The players' work has been extraordinary, both those who started and those who came on as substitutes. We feel very comfortable playing with our people, we have to value what the team is doing. We have positioned ourselves close to everything, and we can take a calmer look at the weekend."
"Kirian is a very intelligent guy, everyone will credit the second goal to Manu, but a big part of it is also his. He knows perfectly well what works for us and what doesn't."
"Manu has very good stats, he's having an extraordinary year. I remember a conversation with him around matchday ten when I was asking him for goals and numbers. I think he's feeling very comfortable, he's having a great season, and he can still give us more."
"Whenever you win, it's good to play earlier; otherwise, the weekend would have felt long. I don't give it much importance; it's a good time to enjoy it because it's not easy to win matches in this category. The players have given their all to secure another three points. We will fight until the last second of the last match to achieve our goals."
"The position can't drive us crazy. Right now, I don't know where we will be, whether inside or outside... the point is to stay close."
"Today, the substitutes brought an incredible amount of energy; absolutely everyone contributed a lot. This category doesn't wait for anyone."
