Las Palmas wins in Lugo and retakes the lead (0-1)

After 10 matches in the competition, UD Las Palmas regained first position on this Wednesday. To do this, he won 0-1 against CD Lugo in a match in which he displayed two sides and was settled in the second half by a goal from Benito Ramirez.

There are no reactions yet. Be the first!

The yellows steadily became better during the game and even managed to score a little bit more in the closing minutes of the match, which was played in front of more than 2,000 spectators and had a large yellow support in the bleachers.

"Everyone is ready; the guys deserve to play," Garca Pimienta said before of this week's double away matches. As a result, his starting eleven in Lugo differed significantly from the one he used against UD Ibiza. Even with defender Enrique Clemente making his first official appearance with the UD Las Palmas badge.

The first half saw a complete change in Las Palmas' style of play as they struggled mightily to get anywhere near the well-defended Lugo goalkeeper Whalley.

The first period had little chances, although there were two alarms in both goals. Lugo took the first turn. The referee disallowed a goal scored by forward Sené. Prior to this shot, referee Sánchez López had called a charge on Ramos for hitting Enrique Clemente in his leap. There was no consultation with the VAR.

But Las Palmas had the clearest chance in the opening quarter, when Moleiro connected with lvaro Lemos from the right. The Galician side blasted the ball with strength, but the post (seventh of the season) denied the hope of a 1-0 lead before halftime.

When the game restarted, Coach Garca Pimienta made two positional changes. To influence the vibe of the Lugo night, Jonathan Viera and Sandro Ramirez replaced Moleiro and Andone.

After a sluggish restart, the game eventually shifted toward Lugo's goal. Finally, after 59 minutes of play, the yellows got the goal they were searching for.

Loiodice and Viera started the play on the right, moving towards the area where his ball was stopped by Benito. The villager did not forgive and hurled the ball into the Lugo nets with authority.

Las Palmas regained Second Division leadership with this goal, after knowing the results of other direct competitors. And he had to struggle for a half-hour to keep the lead and consolidate such a solid qualifying position on the day.

The first half's rithm was likewise dampened on the pitch, requiring the yellow team to fight hard to defend what they had previously achieved. And if anyone was capable of scoring a fresh goal, it was Sandro and Viera. Both had two final-minute opportunities, but goalkeeper Whalley avoided them with feline agility.
