UD Las Palmas have written another epic story at the Martínez Valero stadium in Elche, as they overcame Elche 2-3 after going in at half-time 2-0 down. Las Palmas made just a couple of changes to their starting line-up; Aythami Artiles and Martín Mantovani formed a central defensive partnership in place of Deivid and Mauricio Lemos. They game started with Elche on top, with a timid attack and shot that Álvaro Valles saved comfortably. The away side responded with a cross-shot by Jonathan Viera which went narrowly wide of the left-hand upright (min. 6). In the 15th minute Las Palmas went close once more as Benito Ramírez hit a weak shot following a great through ball by Jonathan Viera.

Elche took the lead from the penalty spot through Fidel, following a foul in the area by Mantovani (min. 23). Las Palmas could have equalised through a header by Mantovani which Badía saved with his right hand. The game remained an equal affair with Las Palmas enjoying greater possession, with Elche sitting back following their penalty. Josan then extended the home side's lead in the 34th minute with a clever lob, and the game suddenly became an uphill struggle for Las Palmas in a deceptive first half. Elche's goalkeeper then pulled off two great saves in under a minute from Pedri and Narváez. Las Palmas were enjoying their best spell of the match, and deserved to score.

In the second half, Srnic came on in place of Eric Curbelo on the right wing. Las Palmas were obliged to score as soon as possible in order to get back into the game. And this they did in the 62nd minute through Benito following a great pass by Jonathan Viera. Mel's side were in full control, moving the ball around from one side to the other and creating a constant threat for Elche's defence. Snric nearly scored the equaliser in another great chance, before just two minutes later, Narváez, aided by an Elche defender, got his side deservedly back on level terms (min. 65). Home goalkeeper Edgar Badía, who was playing a blinder, managed to block a free kick by Benito which seemed destined to creep inside the near post. Then a header by Narváez in the 74th minute rounded off a fine comeback. VAR had to confirm the ball had crossed the line as the goalkeeper stretched to claw it out. Las Palmas' winning run extends to four games and they move to just one point off a playoff spot. Next Tuesday sees the team turn their attention to the Spanish Cup as they travel to CD Castellón.
