Jairo: "I am thankful to the club for bringing me here"

New signing Jairo Samperio was today presented to the media in the company of Luis Helguera, technical secretary at UD Las Palmas, who said of Jairo "he is a versatile player, he’s quick and skilfull, who can play on either wing. We welcome him to the club and hope he brings us all good luck".

"The club worked hard to sign me, as did the trainer, and I am grateful to everyone involved for bringing me here" the player stated following his signing from Mainz 05. Regarding his current form and fitness, he said "I feel great right now, even though I haven’t been playing regularly I have been training really hard". On his return to LaLiga, he said "I am very excited about coming back to such a demanding league as the Spanish League".

He talked of the fans, stressing "with the help of everyone, we will turn the situation around". Regarding his new team’s situation, Jairo believes "we need to be united, together in our everyday work, and I like the great atmosphere in the dressing room".

"I have come to give my best, to help the team achieve their goal of staying up" concluded Las Palmas’ latest signing.
