Luis Helguera, the sporting director of the club, was responsible for starting the presentation of Giovanni Bonfanti, whom he described as "a left-footed player who can also play as a full-back. I think he can help us create advantages, he has good ball control, strong aerial play, and good ball distribution. We are very happy with his arrival,” Helguera explained.

“What I like most about the club is the love they have for the jersey, and that is what motivates me the most this season,” were the first words of the new yellow team player, who arrives with the intention of serving the team from the very first moment. “My goal is to be at the team's disposal and give my best to achieve everything we set out to do,” he stated.

Bonfanti also explained that adapting to Spanish football will not be a problem for his playing style. “I am very used to playing with the ball. Spain is a World Cup-winning country, and I am very happy to play here,” he said.

His arrival at UD Las Palmas came after a contact that, as he acknowledged, was quick. “The contact with the club was very quick, and as soon as I knew the opportunity existed, I didn’t hesitate to come.”

The Italian defender also spoke about the jersey number he will wear this season. “This morning we were talking about the significance of the number 21. I will give my best to prove that I can wear it,” he assured.

Bonfanti began his career as a central defender, although his versatility allows him to play in other positions in the defensive line. “I started playing as a central defender, but I will play wherever the coach needs me. If it’s as a full-back, I will have no problem,” he explained.

The player is already prepared to face his first minutes wearing the yellow jersey and expressed his eagerness to meet the fans at the Gran Canaria Stadium. “To the fans, I say that I can’t wait to play in the stadium. I am ready,” he affirmed.

Bonfanti described himself off the field as a calm person, although he assured that his character changes when the match begins: “Off the field, I am a very calm person, but on the field, I transform.”

Finally, the new yellow team player confirmed that he is in good physical condition to join the competitive dynamic: “Yes, I feel physically well and I am ready to debut.”
