UD Las Palmas wins and regains the lead (1-0)

The contest began with a fright in the first minute and a half. Kanté was going to grab a pass in the yellow zone when he placed pressure on Eric Curbelo. The opposing defence responded quickly to restore calm and prevent the Gambian international striker from making a risky play.

It wasn't the only surprise. Kanté seized the ball in midfield and sprinted into the island area at 7 minutes. His left-footed attempt, though, was out. Kanté then finished off Valles' nets in the 14th minute with a move that started with a pass from the goalie. When a clear offside was verified, the goal was not displayed on the scoreboard.

It was a point in the game when the yellows couldn't figure out how to apply their strategy. Furthermore, the ball loses provided metres for the opposing players' advances.

Las Palmas overcame an unsteady start to shift the course of affairs. After a half-hour wait, Andrés Fernández was forced to intercede to reject the first shot of the locals, Marc Cardona's effort following a parabolic service by Alberto Moleiro. Viera tried again a few minutes later. He was told to take a straight free kick near the Huesca area. Later, the captain got a deep pass with a shot that Fernández again denied near to a post.

During the second sector of the first half, the goal roamed the opposing goal. In minute 39, Jonathan Viera bemoaned another excellent opportunity, a pass from Pejiño. The island's 21st attempted an unusual heel shot, but the ball struck the base of a post and returned to the field of play. It was Gran Canaria's sixth shot at the wood this season.

Las Palmas had struggled to find their way, but they finally found the goal at the start of the second half. On this case, the 1-0 came as a result of a strategic move, from a corner. Pejiño fired the ball with purpose to the first post, where Eric Curbelo was wrestling with defender Florian, deflecting the ball into the back of the net.

Jonathan Viera had two shots quite near to the goal both before and after the goal. Marc Cardona was about to scored again in minute 65, thanks to an assist from Loiodice. However, his shot was wide, ruining an otherwise ideal shooting position.

hat play was the prelude of a match cooling down. Las Palmas earned the points after a lot of sacrifice, in a closing stretch when the visiting squad strove to equalisebut couldn't find a means to finish off Valles' goal.
