UD Las Palmas will dispute the final match of the Ramón de Carranza Trophy (0-1)

The UD Las Palmas will dispute tomorrow the great LXVII edition of the Carranza Trophy final match after winning in the first semifinal against Cádiz (0-1), with a goal scored by Jonathan Calleri.

UD Las Palmas presented itself for the first time in its history in the prestigious Ramon de Carranza trophy tournament. And it did it in a shining manner, obtaining a ticket for tomorrow's final thank to Calleri´s goal. Manolo Márque lined up a very competitive eleven, with the argentinians Sergio Araujo and Calleri as men in the forward line.

The firsts paces of the match were domained by the Cádiz squad. In several balls pitched over the 9 meters area Lizoain was put in under pressure. Raúl Lizoain had to intervene to clear the ball off from a shot by Dani Romera (min. 10). The ball was not driven fluently. First, because of the uneven state of the field in The Ramón y Carranza stadium, secondly, the "yellow" midfielders did not find the comfortable way to Araujo and Calleri, and to the David Gil´s area.

Halilovic´s sprints, from time to time, made Cadiz´s full-backs out his mind, but were not enough to disturb the local Goal. Over sudden Las Palmas inspired, proved him better. A great Ball from the left side was headed by Calleri into the net and put the 1-0 on the score. A Great Goal!

Cádiz accused the goal. The Las Palmas players individualities ended up in some unnecessary foul kicks from the andalusians that were closed to tie the match with an overhead kicked by Dani Romera that went out licking the post. Both teams headed to the locker room with a minimum difference in the score for UD Las Palmas.

In the second half, Hernán Toledo substituted Halilovic. Las Palmas proved itself physically better. Every loose ball always was won by a "grey" player, the 2nd uniform of this year for UD. Las Palmas, The former Lanús footballer did not profit a great pass by Callery and his half chipped shoot ended in the hands of the goalie (min. 56). In the tactical level Las Palmas improved, there were much better moves on the sides and a cleaner ball circulation. It also help the great amount of recovered balls by Hernan Santana.

Raúl Lizoain, with an outstanding performance, blocked out a poisoned by the wind kick by Abdoullah (min. 65). The Local left side forward Alvaro showed himself more, Las Palmas relaxed a little bit, and Cádiz put pressure back on the match. Tana, jumped into the field and later on Boateng and Jonathan Viera did it to assure the possession of the ball and keep the advantage in the score. At the end, victory for UD Las Palmas that takes a little step more in its preparation, aside of reinforce its self-esteem for the beginning of LaLiga in Valencia.
