Quique Setién: "Our playing style has worked well for us and I don’t intend to change it"

"Alavés are up there on merit, they strike me as a highly competitive outfit. They deserve to be where they are", declared UD Las Palmas’ trainer with reference to tomorrow’s clash against the team from Vitoria.

He added: "I don’t think the players have questioned our playing style, we approach every rival we play against in a different way", he continued. "What I ask of the players is that they play with confidence throughout the match".

"Our playing style has worked well for us quite frankly and we are not going to change that", the manager said. "I have always said I would keep a balanced playing style both when winning and losing and keep doing things the same way". "Team has had a good season, although some people prefer to see the glass as half empty".

He also announced that: "Both Jonathan Viera and Vicente are out of the running for this match, as they have been carrying injuries all through the week".

He recognised that: "Our dream was to try and qualify for European football, but reality has shown this not to be, it is a really hard job to qualify".
