Pepe Mel: “We need to try and close out games”

Las Palmas’ trainer summed up tonight’s game by saying “the goal came without us really threatening and when we actually started playing football we were unable to close out the match”.

There are no reactions yet. Be the first!

Pepe Mel stressed following tonight’s match against Córdoba that “we need to do more damage up front. We have players in attack who are capable of creating more, yet we are unable to finish off our rivals”.

”I cannot ask any more from Jesús. He has come through with flying colours” he stated with reference to the debut of Jesús Fortes in today’s game, while he also left the door open to future debuts for second team players, saying  “everyone who deserves to play will get a chance while always respecting the professionals in the squad”.

To finish off he spoke of his future with the club. “I have said many times that I would like to continue, but it doesn’t just depend on me, There continues to be a great feeling between the club and myself. Tomorrow I shall be working as normal because I am a professional”.
