Pepe Mel assessed his side's performance today against Cádiz, saying "the injury to Raúl turned the match upside down for us. Those who haven't seen the game will think we were outclassed, but that is not the case", adding: "we started off well and had chances to go ahead, but if we don't score these things can happen".
"Our morale is quite low right now and we now have to lift the players. The team is trying hard, and the technical team is too, but things are just what they are" he indicated, referring to the work he has to do next week. Mel said that the team have been suffering for a long time now, and "it is something the club has to sort out, whether I am here or not".
The manager didn't know the extent of the injury to his goalkeeper Raúl Fernández "because he is not here. When he has been checked over properly we'll know how things are with him". To finish off, Mel admitted his team had hit rock bottom, saying "the players have been really hurt by this. Now is the time to move on and I will pick those players who are up for it".
