Toni Cruz thanked the club’s official sponsor Hospital Perpetuo Socorro, and introduced Gabriel Peñalba as a player who "adjusts well to our style. Our new trainer put his faith in him and so are we", he underlined.

Gabriel Peñalba landed in Gran Canaria this morning, and had his medical check done at the Hospital Perpetuo Socorro, where he was also officially presented as a new yellows’ player. The midfielder said "I am grateful to Paco Jémez for this opportunity he has given me, and I know what he is expecting from me. The chance came up to come here, and although I still had a year and a half left on my contract at Cruz Azul, I wanted to help the club move forward".

Regarding what he could bring to the team, he stated "I am now a more complete player, and I have come here to give 100% effort, the team’s shirt will be like a second skin to me". Peñalba spoke of his new club’s situation, admitting, "it is a psychological matter, and we need to keep our spirits up to achieve our goal".

"I am looking forward to meeting the squad and training as soon as possible" concluded Gabriel Peñalba in his presentation as the club’s latest signing. However, Toni Cruz warned that his international transfer papers the club are working to get through may not arrive in time for the Spanish Cup clash against Valencia.
