Paco Herrera assessed his team's rivals, saying "they have got a good team. Lugo play to their strengths, they like to pass the ball around and they are strong on the wings". As for his own team, he said "they are fired up and really up for it. We just need some wins to get our confidence back".

"I am convinced the team will get better, and will have a recognised playing style" with regard to what he has seen of his side over the last couple of weeks as trainer, adding this he has worked on raising the confidence of the squad, although "I still need to convince them they are capable and are a great side".

Herrera stated firmly that "winning the next three games before the winter break would be incredible, and shake off our ghosts. The situation would be perfect".

Paco Herrera spoke of how Momo and Peñalba were getting over injury, saying they might be ready for the derby against Tenerife, saying, "we are gradually getting our players back. I am optimistic about the future". When asked about any signing during the transfer window, he replied "they are all in our youth side".
