Manolo Jiménez managed UD Las Palmas in 14 league matches and one Spanish Cup match, against Rayo Majadahonda. UD Las Palmas, following last night’s draw against Granada, lie in fifth place in the table, six points adrift of the leaders with other games still to be played in this weekend’s league programme.

Jiménez came to the club this summer  from AEK Athens, the Greek side who he led to the league championship last year. "Our objectives are highly ambitious and results have not gone the way of achieving these objectives. We are not the the required level we need to be, nor where we thought we should be at this stage of the season. We are very satisfied with his professionalism, but in football it is the results that count”, said presidente Miguel Ángel Ramírez as he announced the sacking of his trainer.

The Administration Board at UD Las Palmas, who recognize the commitment and respect he has always held for the club, wish all the best to Manolo Jiménez and his backroom team, comprising Felipe Benítez (assistant trainer) and Sebastián López (physio), and every success in the future, both personally and professionally.
