Las Palmas wins again on Friday and moves closer to the lead (2-1)

For the second consecutive Friday, UD Las Palmas sleeps as the leader of the Second Division. This time after defeating (2-1) Albacete Balompié in the advanced match of the fifteenth round of the championship. Manu Fuster and Milos Lukovic were the authors of the island team's success in a game that showed several faces.

There are no reactions yet. Be the first!

The first minutes of the match were marked by uncertainty, with two early chances for the visitors squandered by Lazo and Jefté. Both shots missed Dinko Horkas' goal, but they served as warning signs for the yellows.

After a quarter of an hour, the dynamics of the game began to change. Las Palmas then took control of the ball, connected with abundant passes between their lines, and finally found the goal after a corner play in the 17th minute. The set-piece action was completed by Iván Gil with a cross that Manu Fuster headed in. As he had mentioned during the week, the midfielder did not celebrate the goal against his former team.

The first objective had already been achieved. The ball movement, which had caused some unease in the opening minutes, was now being managed by the yellows, producing several plays that demonstrated their dominance in the match.

Before halftime, the score increased to 2-0. Fran Pejiño could have achieved it after a play in the box that he failed to finish with a shot. However, in the 38th minute, Amatucci connected with Manu Fuster, who then passed to forward Lukovic. The Serbian decisively approached the box and scored the second goal with a powerful left-footed shot.

At the start of the second half, former yellow player Raúl Lizoain became the protagonist. The visiting goalkeeper blocked a shot from Lukovic just in time, as he had managed to reach Albacete's box with a chance to score again.

The game took another turn in the final stretch after an excellent goal by Jon Morcillo, surprising with a long-range shot that beat goalkeeper Horkas. The ball soared through the Gran Canaria air and surpassed the advanced position of the Croatian keeper.

But Las Palmas acted intelligently in the final stretch, also with sacrifice. They protected their lead to ensure the 2-1 became the treasure of the night, keeping Luis García's team in the race for the top spot.
