Two goals by Kirian spark a comeback in Cádiz and another important away victory (1-2)

UD Las Palmas returns to the promotion playoff zone and faces the final stretch of five matches with determination. This Monday, Luis García Fernández's team won 1-2 in Cádiz, coming from behind with goals from their captain Kirian Rodríguez. The player from Tenerife revived the long-range shot to score both goals for the visitors on a windy night that added difficulty to the game for both teams.

The match did not start well for UD Las Palmas, as they conceded the 1-0 goal in the 3rd minute of play. Earlier, Dinko Horkas had intervened to deflect a close-range shot from Antoñito in the box. But in the next play, it was the Tenerife native Joaquín González, who had played in the youth teams of the Gran Canaria club, who headed in a corner to open the scoring at the Nuevo Mirandilla.

The initial doubts quickly dissipated in the 14th minute when, after several attacking moves, Kirian Rodríguez equalized the match with an extraordinary goal. The Tenerife native spotted an opening from outside the box and executed a powerful and exquisitely placed shot that the goalkeeper Aznar could not stop. The 1-1 scoreline reset everything as it had started.

With the game pattern reestablished, Las Palmas had a great opportunity in the 28th minute after a pass from Barcia to Ale García. The youth player found himself alone in front of the goalkeeper, but his shot was deflected by Aznar. However, Fuster tried to finish off the play, was brought down, and the yellows called for a penalty. The play was validated without a VAR review.

The Valencian midfielder had a second chance before halftime, in the 43rd minute. He controlled the ball in the box, evaded a defender, and shot low, aiming for the post. The ball was slightly deflected, leaving Fuster tantalizingly close to scoring. The 1-1 scoreline remained at the break of a match also influenced by the prevailing wind.

Las Palmas continued their game plan in the second half, although this phase saw fewer chances in the penalty areas. Barcia had an opportunity to head the ball after a corner. Finally, after several plays, there was a lethal counterattack by the Gran Canaria team, which Kirian sealed with the second goal for his team. The Tenerife native once again opted for an outside shot to beat the goalkeeper of the Cádiz team.

Luis García's team had completed the comeback, shifting their focus to managing the favorable scoreline in the final minutes.

The scoreline could have increased for Las Palmas, but the final chances by Iker Bravo and especially Pejiño did not materialize due to defensive actions by the home team.
