Aythami Artiles has been unveiled as Las Palmas' latest signing, saying how pleased he was to be back. "I am keen to start back with the team. When they came to me with an offer I didn't have to think twice about it", the defender stated. Aythami was keen to point out that "the fact I am here doesn't mean we will be promoted".

"I bring a lot of experience to the team, both on and off the pitch. I am here to help where needed" said the central defender from Arguineguín. This will be the player's third stint at UD Las Palmas, with few new experiences left for him to savour as a player, but he considers it a privilege to be playing for his home team, saying "I have been a fan of Las Palmas since I was a kid, and I am so lucky to be playing for them".

In terms of the club's aim to get promoted back up to the top flight of Spanish football, he acknowledged "it is a very even competition but we have the second half of the season ahead of us and the dressing room is fully committed, and this is the way we need to keep going" concluding his appearance in the press room at the Estadio Gran Canaria.
