UD leaves its reaction incomplete against Córdoba on a fateful afternoon (1-2)

Córdoba became the third team to take all three points from the Estadio de Gran Canaria (1-2) this Saturday, following the victories of Málaga and Almería in the first round. The yellows were forced to play catch-up almost the entire afternoon after finding themselves 0-2 down at the start of the game. But Ale García's goal, Dinko Horkas' saves, and the debut of Japanese player Taisei Miyashiro proved insufficient.

At the reception of Córdoba, coach Luis García Fernández decided on two changes in the starting eleven compared to the match at El Sardinero. Marvin Park returned to the right-back position, while Iker Bravo was present for the first time in the official match photo, taking the striker position.

But the afternoon became very uphill in just 12 minutes, despite the good feelings with which the yellows had entered the field. Two errors in their own half led to counterattacks by the visitors, successfully finished by Diego Bri and Adri Fuentes to establish a surprising 0-2.

Las Palmas rebelled against this adverse situation and in the 17th minute managed to reduce the score after a play involving Viera, Marvin Park, and a final shot by Ale García. The shot by the young player from Gran Canaria hit the post before ending up in Córdoba's net for 1-2.

There was more anxiety than good ideas on the local team, despite going into halftime with 64% possession. However, in the penultimate and final steps within the area, Luis García's players failed to complete their plays. Córdoba went into halftime with a 1-2 lead and the feeling of being a dangerous team every time they managed to cross the field towards Horkas' area.

The local coach tried to find solutions with changes in the second half. Las Palmas threw themselves into trying to equalize the match. Jesé Rodríguez had a goal disallowed for offside, but later everything went wrong again after Barcia was sent off as the last defender.

However, Horkas kept hope alive by saving Jacobo's shot from the penalty spot. Despite everything, Las Palmas took maximum risks, and Córdoba, on the counterattack, could have increased their tally, with two goals disallowed in injury time due to rule infractions.
