Alejandro Gálvez Jimena (born in Granada, Spain on 6th June 1989) is a central defender currently under contract with SD Éibar, who arrives here on a loan deal, with the full backing of Paco Jémez. Indeed, Gálvez’s development in the game, and his move to the Bundesliga, at Werder Bremen, is partly down to the yellows’ new manager, who also gave him playing time at Rayo Vallecano for two seasons.

He started in the youth leagues in his hometown of Granada, where he moved onto the youth set up at Albacete Balompié in the under 16s category. They became Youth Spanish Cup Winners in 2007, and the following season he joined the División de Honor Juvenil team at Villarreal CF.

He made his First Division debut with Sporting de Gijón on 15th January 2012, against Málaga CF, at El Molinón stadium, helping the home team to gain victory 2-1 by scoring the first goal.

In his first season at Eibar he played 19 matches. This year he has only played 4 games, scoring one goal, which gave his team victory over CD Leganés (1-0).

Gálvez is due to arrive in Gran Canaria on Saturday at 11.45. The latest yellows’ signing is the second new arrival, and will undergo a medical at the Hospital Perpetuo Socorro, at 12.30 horas. The club will announce the time and place of his official presentation during the morning.
