Two Goals from Sandro Secure a Valuable Victory Over Valladolid (2-1)

UD Las Palmas achieved an important victory this Saturday. The yellow team came out on top against Real Valladolid, thanks to two goals from Sandro Ramírez at the Estadio de Gran Canaria (2-1). With this result, Diego Martínez's side secured their second home win of the season, crucially against a direct rival in the battle for survival in La Liga.

It was far from a comfortable match. From the very beginning, Las Palmas faced a compact opponent with strong defensive organization aimed at containing the home side’s dominant possession. The Canary Islanders' play was fluid, but they struggled to find a decisive pass to create a clear scoring chance. Las Palmas needed patience to find gaps in Valladolid's purple-and-white defensive lines.

The first warning shot came from Fabio Silva in the 16th minute, with a low, long-range left-footed strike that goalkeeper Hein managed to save. Just three minutes later, at the 19th minute, Sandro Ramírez opened the scoring. Moleiro created the first incisive play in the box, launching a trademark move from the left wing and delivering a cross that, after some hesitation from Valladolid’s defenders, allowed Sandro to stretch out his foot and send the ball into the net, sending the home fans into celebration.

The match took a turn from that point until the end of the first half. Las Palmas eased up on their pressure, allowing Valladolid to gain more ground. The visiting side managed to cross the halfway line and started to string together attacking moves. Their efforts came close to paying off in the 35th minute, when Kike Pérez fired over the crossbar from close range. The equalizer arrived just before halftime, as Marcos André scored after a headed assist from teammate Sylla.

The mood shifted for Las Palmas, with a mix of clear and cloudy moments in their performance. The second half began with a balanced dynamic until, once again, Sandro Ramírez brought hope to the Canary Islanders. The 2-1 goal came just past the hour mark, thanks to a pass from Campaña that Sandro turned into gold. He found a gap between Valladolid’s defenders and unleashed a missile with his left foot. The ball flew on a diagonal path, smashing into the back of the net near the vertical post.

The stadium erupted with joy, fully aware of the importance of the goal and the effort being shown on the pitch. However, the final phase of the game required Las Palmas to hold firm as Valladolid launched a relentless push for a second goal.

Las Palmas defended with grit and sacrifice. They even had chances to seal the win with a third goal, as Fabio Silva, Jaime Mata, and Loiodice all had opportunities. Despite their best efforts, the scoreline remained unchanged, and the three points stayed at the Estadio de Gran Canaria.
