Tomás Pekhart, UD Las Palmas’ new player

Tomás Pekhart, Czech international striker, arrives at UD Las Palmas from Hapoel Beer Sheva of the Israeli first division. He will wear the yellow jersey for the next two seasons.

Pekhart (May 26, 1989) is a tall striker (1.95 m height), with experience in several first level clubs in Europe. The Czech striker took his first steps in the club of his city, the TJ Susice. In 2003 he landed at the Slavia in Prague. In the 2006-2007 season he went to English football, specifically to Tottenham Hotspur. Two years later it was ceded to Southampton. In July 2011 he emigrated to German football, to join FC Nürnberg of the Bundesliga. Three years later he joined the Ingolstadt, the second German, with which he achieved promotion. In February 2016 he joined the Greek AEK, where he was under the orders of Manolo Jiménez, to finally enter the Israeli Hapoel Beer Sheva.

The Czech striker is an experienced player for his time in important leagues of the old continent such as the Premier League and the Bundesliga and for his participation in the Champions League or the Europa League. In 2010 he made his debut with the Czech Republic's senior team, with which he has participated in 19 matches, scoring two goals.

Tomás Pekhart arrives tomorrow at Gran Canaria at 2:15 p.m. from Madrid, and once he has a medical examination at the Perpetuo Socorro Hospital (3:30 p.m.), he will be presented at the Gran Canaria Stadium press room at 6:30 p.m.
