Sergio Barcia appeared at a press conference before the match that will pit the yellows against Real Sporting this Sunday at Gran Canaria, a rival he highlighted as "a team with a lot of history. We expect a very tough match, but we will try to approach it with our game plan and ideas."

These were some of his statements:

"We left the Albacete match feeling upset; the game itself wasn't bad. We played well in the first half, and they hadn't created a clear chance until the last ten minutes, where we didn't perform as well as we should have. In the end, they turned the game around in five minutes."

"What is clear is that we are aware that the last ten minutes were not good. We need to have control of the game. We have to be self-critical, get back up, and win the next match."

"I'm happy here. It's not the time to think beyond Sporting. If you look too far ahead, you make mistakes. We have to take it week by week. Right now, we need to focus on the team, which is what matters."

"I think all players want to avoid injuries, but in such a long league, it's ultimately difficult to avoid them."

"The relationship with Mika is amazing; it's an incredible advantage. A player like him raises your level. We complement each other very well, and we are very happy and glad to be able to help the team both defensively and offensively."
