Pimienta: "Against a team like Barça, we have to be very brave."

The yellow coach stated in the pre-match press conference that FC Barcelona "has a top-level squad and we will try to compete against them as we always have. If we stay true to ourselves, we will have our chances."

García Pimienta appeared this Friday at the press room of the Ciudad Deportiva, before the last training session the yellows will carry out in Gran Canaria. The coach began his speech by indicating that "it will be a very difficult and demanding match, Barcelona is at their best moment of the season. They will fight for La Liga, I have no doubt about that." He also highlighted the quality of Xavi Hernandez's squad: "It doesn't matter who plays, they have top-level players."

Regarding what he expects during the match: "Both they and we want the same thing, to reach the opposing goal with possession of the ball. We will try to compete against them, as we always have, and if we stay true to ourselves, we will have our chances." "In such a match, you have to be very brave," he added.

Here are some of his statements:

"I am very grateful for everything that Barça did for me; it is a club where I have been for 28 years. It has shaped me as a coach, player, and person." "From there, right now I am with Las Palmas, in La Liga, and I have achieved something very difficult like gaining promotion to La Liga with a recognizable team and system."

"We are going through a bad spell of results; we have worked a lot on the field and in video analysis. Mistakes are made because we are human, but the team trains and competes at 100%."

"I am very clear that what I want is for Las Palmas to do well and win all the matches; obviously, tomorrow's match will be very special for me."

"Players like Pedri or Moleiro entered the first team on their own and at the right moment they managed to establish themselves. Las Palmas has one of the best youth academies in Spain, and we have to be very aware that players will gradually come up to the first team."

"Alberto Moleiro trained more or less well yesterday; we have been taking care of him throughout the week. I hope he has no problems in today's training and is available."

"I congratulate the players of the Juvenil A team; they deserve it. Considering that training is the most important thing, it would be interesting for Las Palmas Atlético to achieve promotion. The reserve team is having a great season."
