Las Palmas achieved a great win tonight against Albacete Balompié with some fine goals that had not been seen for many a month in Gran Canaria. Las Palmas began to get a hold of the game after the first half hour. In a quick attacking move the yellows went ahead through Jonathan Viera, whose deft touch with his right foot put away a cross by De la Bella. Las Palmas' number '21' was back in the Estadio Gran Canaria and did so with a fine opening goal.

The game had been a non-event up to that point because there had been no action to speak of around either penalty box. Both sides enjoyed periods of possession and also attacked on the break. Pepe Mel put out the same side that had given such a good account of themselves in Girona, with one exception, Aythami Artiles coming in for the suspended Martín Mantovani.

With Viera's strike, Las Palmas grew in performance and play. Albacete lost their position on the pitch and errors began to creep in. The home side claimed a penalty when De la Bella fell in the box. Las Palmas were enjoying their best moments going forward. Just before the break, Jonathan Viera hit a majestic free kick that flew into the back of the net to put his side 2-0 ahead (min. 45).

Las Palmas continued in the ascendency in the second half, and were forced into a substitution due to a muscular injury to Narváez. Lanky striker Thomas Pekhart took his place in attack. Las Palmas moved up a gear. Another piece of skill by Jonathan Viera ended with a great cross which Pekhart headed home (min. 68). The 3-0 scoreline rounded off a fine performance by the home side, but the arrears were reduced unexpectedly. The away side got a goal back with five minutes to go through Zozulia. Then there were a nervous few minutes at the end as Acuña made the scores 3-2 in time added on.
