Moleiro and Muñoz seal another great away victory (0-2)

UD Las Palmas achieved their fourth away victory of the season this Saturday, this time against Rayo Vallecano (0-2). Goals from Moleiro and Javi Muñoz, in the first and second halves respectively, propel García Pimienta's team beyond the 30-point mark (31) in the second-to-last stretch of the calendar. The team celebrated the success with the Canarian fans present in Madrid while firmly maintaining their approach towards the goal of securing permanence.

The coaching staff of UD Las Palmas found no reasons to alter the starting lineup that had won against Villarreal at the Gran Canaria Stadium a week earlier. Therefore, as the main highlight in the match, Juanma Herzog accumulated his third consecutive game with the Gran Canaria professional team.

And alongside his teammates, he witnessed how Rayo Vallecano came out determined to press the genesis of the Gran Canarian game, an attempt by the home team to approach the scoreboard early and take the initial advantage. In this uncomfortable initial atmosphere, Álvaro García had the first chance, collecting a rebound from Valles and shooting wide.

Las Palmas adapted to the match as it progressed. The first yellow shot came from Álex Suárez after a well-woven combination by the visitors. However, the ball was slightly touched by a defender, preventing a surprise for Dimitrievski.

The second risky action occurred at 25 minutes through Sandro. The local striker escaped the vigilance of the central defender Aridane, but ultimately, Unai López intervened to prevent the attacker from facing the Macedonian goalkeeper.

The match gradually turned yellow. The heat zone shifted to Rayo's field, where García Pimienta's players also pressed their opponents. The reward came at 34 minutes, with Moleiro scoring a goal. Dimitrievski mishandled a pass, and the Tenerife native calmly placed a shot next to the post from outside the box.

Rayo responded quickly with a header from Balliu going wide. However, the second goal opportunity could have come in the 37th minute when Munir, facing the local goalkeeper, made the wrong choice in a pass thwarted by defenders before reaching Moleiro.

Las Palmas could have extended their lead before halftime with two chances from Munir and Kirian, but they couldn't complete their actions in the local area. The last one, a shot similar to the first goal, this time caught by the Rayo's Macedonian goalkeeper.

The second half had a different tone, with actions from side to side. Danger came from both the Rayo players and the yellow ones. Las Palmas had to exert effort on every ball, with a fast-paced rhythm and an advantage that carried its own uncertainties.

Dimitrievski displayed excellent reflexes at the hour mark, with a flying hand save after a shot from Javi Muñoz. Las Palmas continued to withstand the onslaught of the local team, which did not lower the intensity in their pressing game. However, it was Muñoz himself, after an excellent delivery from the left, who dashed the local hope with a goal decorated with a subtle touch in front of the Rayo goalkeeper.

It was a great goal to put the icing on the Vallecas day.
