Luis García: "We must always look forward and have that ambition to be better every day"

The coach of UD Las Palmas, Luis García, stated ahead of the visit to Butarque that "we must not look at past statistics, although historically it has not been a favorable ground for us, we are going with all the enthusiasm in the world and the desire to play an extraordinary match."

Luis García appeared this Friday in the press room, before the last training session that the yellows will carry out at the Sports City, prior to the visit to CD Leganés. Regarding the yellows' next opponent, the coach stated that "they have a very good squad, with different variations and profiles. We know that it is a team that has never been behind on the scoreboard. We go with great enthusiasm and very clear ideas to play a good match."

Regarding the stadium: "We have trained very well, the team is focused, very eager, and ambitious, which is very important."

These were some of his statements:

"Paco López is a great coach, with a lot of experience, and he has had great seasons both in the First and Second Divisions."

"We must not look at past statistics, always the present. We have to have the ambition to be better every day. Historically, that field has not been favorable for us, but we go with all the enthusiasm."

"Sandro is very involved in the day-to-day of the team, very eager to return. We are calm, the medical staff and he are working to the maximum. I hope that sooner rather than later he can be back on the pitch, which is what he loves the most."

"Viti will not be available this weekend. Surely next week he will join the group dynamics."

"Regarding rotations and the defensive line, I am very calm with the one that is starting, and I would be equally calm with those who are not participating as much. A big part of the team's defensive solidity is due to the people behind pushing hard."

"The magic potion is to work. Enrique Clemente is a player who is greatly supported by the model and the way we play. He is a footballer who gives us a lot of composure with the ball, and we are very happy with his daily work."

"Recoba is working well, but we have to understand that it is not always easy for a player to leave his environment, away from his family, friends... The boy is working very well, he has tremendous humility and an immense desire to learn. We have to be patient with him, and I am sure he will bring us a lot."

"Viera and Jesé are helping us a lot. The young players feel their presence, you hear them giving advice... Their commitment is maximum, and from my position, I thank them for what they are doing for the team."

"The player is the one who raises his level. What we try to do is provide them with tools. I enjoy them a lot, what they teach us. The coach is an addition to try to help them because they are the good ones."

"We are working a lot with Lukovic, he has tremendous potential and will be a great forward. He is a very physical player who can cause a lot of trouble for opposing defenses. He is happy on the island and with us."

"Ale García has tremendous potential and needs to continue enhancing those abilities he has. We have to keep helping him perfect those good qualities."
