Las Palmas tried everything but couldn't score a second goal against Éibar. (1-1)

UD Las Palmas drew SD Éibar on Sunday, returning to the direct promotion zone of the qualification standings pending the conclusion of matchday 15. The 1-1 draw, on the other hand, was something the yellows intended to avoid at all costs, as they launched

A cold that had conditioned Jonathan Viera in the previous hours had caused García Pimienta to modify some of his usual tactics to receiving SD Éibar; at least for the duration of the match. The coach gave Alberto Moleiro the duty of yellow game organizer, requiring his squad to spend one more match devising strategies against an opponent who defended himself with five defenders in his last line.

After a period of struggle in which neither team had any opportunities, Alex Suárez scored from a corner. The 1-0 came thanks to a fantastic cross by Sandro Ramirez, whose pass sailed across the box for his colleague to score at the opposite post.

However, Suárez's goal only lasted two minutes. Éibar drew with a steal in the area and a close-range shot by Corpas. After 25 minutes of play, the game was set to restart at 1-1.

On the verge of the break, Alvaro Valles made a double save to prevent the other team's second dangerous arrival. The first period resulted in a draw in a match attended by 20,817 spectators in the Gran Canaria Stadium stands.

In the 50th minute, Sal Coco was the next yellow to try it. The defender went on the attack and unleashed a 'buzz' from 30 meters out, which Zidane stopped as best he could as the ball fell in the last stretch of his parabola.

Las Palmas was still hunting for options to level the scoreboard. The local coach sought for offensive answers on the bench, first with Viera, then with Pejiño and Marc Cardona.

Moleiro and Jonathan Viera had the last chances in a tense match period for the Éibar counter-attacks. The Tenerife player completed a corner from the outside of the box with accuracy, but goalkeeper Zidane touched the ball just enough to push it off the crossbar. Later, after beating the goalie in one play, it was captain Viera who ended a play. However, the ball was saved by a defender after the Grada Curva had already stood up before the potential of a 2-1 score.

The yellow squad faced their opponent until the 94th minute, but the final score remained 1-1.
