Las Palmas Seals a Last-Minute Draw Against Alavés (2-2)

It wasn’t the ideal outcome, but the match ended far better than it started. UD Las Palmas rescued a point after coming back from two goals down against Deportivo Alavés (2-2). Fabio Silva, from the penalty spot, and Moleiro secured a vital draw in a game that seemed out of reach until the 88th minute.

The match began with an early setback. In the 6th minute, Toni Martínez fired a powerful, unstoppable shot to put Alavés ahead. Defender Juanma Herzog tried to step up in time to play the striker offside, but after a VAR review, the goal stood.

Despite the early blow, Las Palmas quickly regrouped and created two clear chances. In the 14th minute, Fabio Silva broke into the box, forcing a risky defensive intervention. Two minutes later, Álex Suárez’s header was comfortably saved by goalkeeper Adrián.

Alavés, however, remained a constant threat. Toni Martínez nearly doubled their lead in the 19th minute, but his shot struck the post.

The game became stagnant until halftime, with Las Palmas dominating possession but struggling to break down Alavés' disciplined defense. The visitors remained patient, waiting for counterattacking opportunities.

At 0-1 down, the home side made key changes at the break. Notably, McBurnie was introduced to partner Fabio Silva up front, aiming to unlock the Alavés defense.

Las Palmas came close to equalizing in the 54th minute through a well-worked play: Silva combined with McBurnie, whose backheel set up Moleiro, but his shot was denied by Adrián. However, it was Alavés who struck again. Guridi finished off a counterattack initiated by Villalibre, making it 0-2 with nearly 30 minutes remaining.

Las Palmas, fueled by pride and fresh legs from the bench, pushed forward. McBurnie played a key role, nearly scoring after a defensive error and then winning a penalty, which Fabio Silva converted to make it 1-2.

Their persistence paid off in stoppage time when Moleiro unleashed a stunning shot to level the score at 2-2. Despite the late heroics, there was no time for more, and the game ended in a dramatic draw
