Las Palmas beats Sporting with a goal from Ale García and another clean sheet (1-0)

UD Las Palmas secured three valuable points this Sunday with the 1-0 victory against Sporting. Equally important was the goal scored in the first half by Ale García and the late-game interventions by Dinko Horkas, who achieved the twelfth clean sheet for the yellows. His teammates embraced the Croatian at the end of the match in recognition of his decisive saves during a dangerous phase of the game.

The Gran Canaria team regained the taste of victory at home and continues its path towards the final stretch of the season, fighting among the contenders in the competition.

Luis García Fernández opted for a change in his starting eleven against Sporting: Amatucci replaced Loiodice to maintain a structure similar to the one that offered a promising start to the match in Albacete during the previous round.

Las Palmas quickly found Sporting's goal when, in the 11th minute, Miyashiro set Ale García on a high-speed run. The Gran Canaria youth player advanced in a swift vertical attack that his defender could not stop. He successfully finished the play with a left-footed shot, beating the rival goalkeeper Christian Joel as he came out.

The second opportunity took 12 minutes to arrive, after several attempts that did not end with a shot. However, Taisei Miyashiro found space at the edge of the area, shooting with his left foot, only for the ball to be deflected by the outside of the post.

The Japanese player was also involved in another chance with a low pass to Jesé, whose shot was deflected to a corner by a Gijón defender.

The yellows enjoyed themselves with fluid play, often with one-touch passes and numerous approaches. The 1-0 scoreline seemed modest at halftime. At the start of the second half, Manu Fuster also came close to scoring with a low shot that Christian Joel saved at ground level. The play was built with numerous passes from the home team.

The game took a turn after the break, with more presence from the visitors in the islanders' half. Croatian goalkeeper Dinko Horkas also had to step in during the second half, making a notable save from a header by Justin. Later, in injury time, he blocked a point-blank shot from Dubasin.

The 1-0 scoreline held until the end, and the Canarian celebration was entirely justified.
