UD returns from El Plantío with a point and a clean sheet (0-0)

UD Las Palmas adds one more point away from home after the goalless draw they achieved this Sunday in Burgos (0-0). The yellows had enough chances in the match to have achieved something more, but the local goalkeeper thwarted the best opportunities. The glass half full of the match, apart from the point earned, is Dinko Horkas's clean sheet, the first of the current season.

Las Palmas approached the fourth match of the season with good feelings from the opening whistle. García Fernández had opted to include Iñaki González and Marc Cardona in the starting eleven as new additions to face the clash at El Plantío. The coach's solutions were reflected in an initial control by the yellows, who managed to create up to three clear chances to open the scoring before the 20th minute.

Those visiting opportunities were thwarted by goalkeeper Ander Cantero, who saved shots from Marc Cardona, Manu Fuster, and Milos Lukovic, two of them in one-on-one situations with the attackers of the Gran Canaria team. The Gran Canaria side's play had depth and posed a threat to their opponent, who relied on their goalkeeper's reflexes to keep the initial 0-0 intact.

The only thing missing from that start of the match was a visiting goal, which would have rewarded a commendable first half in which UD Las Palmas applied similar gameplay tools to their victory in Córdoba. As the minutes passed, the match became more balanced, and Horkas also intervened decisively to prevent the best chance for Burgos, at the feet of David González.

Las Palmas could have scored as well from a set-piece play, following a corner kick, but Mika Mármol's header went just wide of one of Cantero's posts. The 0-0 scoreline remained at the break of a match that had several paces and was still awaiting contributions from the bench.

The yellows had new approaches in the second half, testing Cantero's positioning with shots from Manu Fuster and Loiodice. Jonathan Viera was already on the field, chosen as the first substitute for the visitors in the final stretch of a match that remained unresolved.

In the final moments of the match, the field tilted once again towards the Castilian goal. Las Palmas had more possession while their opponent dropped back to successfully protect their own area. The chances were from long range, but the shots failed to overcome goalkeeper Ander Cantero's control.
