Speaking to the media at the Ciudad Deportiva press room before the game, the coach expressed his gratitude to the fans for their unwavering support, saying "I was absolutely convinced they wouldn't let us down. Unfortunately, we haven't won at home in a while, and it's about time - for us and for them, because they deserve it". He also hoped that the Gran Canaria Stadium would be "a pressure cooker" as they head into the match in Cartagena.

García Pimienta also spoke about their opponent, Villarreal, describing them as a young, dynamic team that plays attractive football and can easily get forward. He emphasized the importance of taking the initiative and pursuing their goals without allowing them to slip away. He acknowledged that Villarreal was almost assured of safety in the league, and that a non-pressure situation could even see them play better than they have in recent matches.

The coach also commented on the competitiveness of the league, noting that the previous round they started as fifth and finished as leaders, illustrating how close the teams are. He acknowledged that there have been many mistakes made by teams in the previous ten rounds, but there will be less room for error in the remaining games.

Finally, García Pimienta praised Kirian, a player who has been performing well, saying that "he's showing what kind of player he is, and we're very happy for him. The biggest success for us would be for him to return to being a footballer". He also expressed his delight in seeing the success of the youth team and the potential of future players joining the first team.
