Cristian López: “I am here to put in a lot of hard work”

Las Palmas’ new striker stated in his first press conference that “things might turn out for better or worse but I always work really hard on the pitch”. The player was accompanied by Toni Otero, the club’s technical secretary.

Cristian López said he was pleased and excited about signing for UD Las Palmas. He said the only thing he was concentrating on was "training and slotting in with my new teammates", and added that despite only having a contract until June "in my mind I am not thinking of being here for just three months".

"I have been training on my own for a month now. I have been working really hard" he said. When asked if he would be available for manager Pepe Mel right from the start he stated: "that is up to the manager but I would like to be involved as soon as possible".

Cristian, who knows a lot about the team thanks to being on friendly terms with Álvaro Lemos, said he was confident that once they get back to winning ways "everything will be that much easier". He ended by talking about Rubén Castro as his benchmark, saying "I have always admired him as a player and I hope to do good things alongside him”.
