Enrique Clemente appeared this Wednesday in the press room of the Ciudad Deportiva, ahead of the match between UD Las Palmas and Albacete BP, on Friday at the Gran Canaria.
The yellow player described the opponent as a team that is "cheerful, transitions very well, and has players up front who bring imbalance and speed. We want to be strong at home and win again with our fans."
These were some of his statements:
"I have been feeling very good from the beginning, the coach has given me a lot of confidence, and we share a similar way of seeing football."
"Surely Luis García has a lot to do with the good situation the team is in, confidence is very important, and I want to repay it with results on the field."
"Viera hasn't told us anything else. We have to focus on the present, which is what matters. He is very important for the group, not only on a sporting level but also as a leader."
"When both parties are willing, everything becomes easier. I have always said that I am very happy here, but I like to stay focused on football. These are matters that are not up to me, and I prefer to stay out of them."
"A very key factor has been the issue of conceded goals. That defensive rigor and security have been decisive, and we believe it is the foundation on which we can work."
"I don't think the dynamic Albacete is in is a coincidence, and I don't think they will come to just defend. Surely they will have chances to hurt us, and we must be attentive to counter them."
"The season has served to show me that I can give more and that I haven't reached my peak."
"We have to be very clear about our path, look forward and not to the sides, because that could weaken us at some point. We have to be consistent and sensible."
"It's inevitable, in the end, we all have that desire, it's beautiful, the excitement that is being generated. The goal was to engage the fans. For promotion, many things have to come together, but we have to be there, and surely with the team and fans working together, everything will be much easier."
