End of season in Riazor. UD Las Palmas came into the final game having done their homework by comfortably avoiding relegation, and with the aim of trying to give a better showing compared to the last few end of season matches.

However, on a sunny afternoon in Coruña the defensive thunder clouds once again appeared as early as the third minute, when Andone broke through and scored the first goal against a helpless Raúl Lizoain. Once again Las Palmas kicked off one goal down.

The away team tried to get the ball back and looked to the pace of Jesé as they moved forward. Hernán came close with a well placed shot after a quarter of an hour.

UD Las Palmas kept on trying to keep faith with their passing game. Jonathan Viera slipped the ball through to the area for Mateo, but his effort was ruled out for offside, a close decision indeed. Las Palmas began to move up a gear. But once again Andone got on the end of a swift counter attack and put paid to any hopes the away team had of getting back into the match, with a second goal in the 28th minute.

The best chance for UD fell to Aythami, who tried a chip that went just over the crossbar defended by goalkeeper Roef. Deportivo were causing trouble every time they went forward, and the third goal duly arrived. Carlos Gil scored it as half time came, a first half that Las Palmas would want to forget.

Setien reshuffled his bench in the second half. Jesé and Bigas gave way to David García and Javi Castellano respectively. A lot would have to change to turn things around. The home team meanwhile did not let up and kept going in search of blood. More chances came and went for Deportivo to add to the scoreline. Jonathan Viera had a free kick well saved by the home goalkeeper with half an hour to go. UD Las Palmas continued to improve, looking stronger defensively, as the game reached its last few minutes. Hernán was sent off following a second yellow card, while Momo was replaced by Halilovic. Las Palmas bring the curtain down on the season with yet another defeat, but with fears of relegation banished, and their thoughts turning to next season.
