Gran Canarian footballer Vitolo gave a press conference during the concentration of the Spanish national side, where they are looking ahead to the games against Costa Rica and Russia: "Lopetegui has always shown me a lot of affection and I will always be grateful for his support". Concerning the national team’s manager, Julen Lopetegui, he admitted: "it is good that he takes a look at players from other leagues, as there are lots of great Spanish players who have moved abroad to play".

As for his current situation at UD Las Palmas: "I do not regret coming to my home team, I had always dreamt of playing in the first division with Las Palmas and I have fulfilled that". "If I am here it is not just to keep match fit, it is to help the team I love".

Vitolo recognises that the yellows are not going through a good patch right now, and he hopes that "things will have improved by the time I come to leave", he concluded at the Ciudad del Fútbol.
