The Unión Deportiva Las Palmas Foundation presented its campaign #estáentusmanos, at the press room at the Estadio Gran Canaria. The presentation was headed by UD Las Palmas president Miguel Ángel Ramírez, trainer Manolo Jiménez, president of AECC, Fernando Fraile, president of the Canary Association of Breast Cancer and Gynaecology, Luisa María Herrera, and head of Human Resources of Ken-Tech, Gema Arcas, the company collaborating with the campaign.

Miguel Ángel Ramírez began proceedings by thanking the commitment of the different participating associations, and pointed out "the club like to get involved in these kinds of campaigns that aim to raise awareness to the general public. We all need to help people who in turn help those who need it the most". The President of the Canary Association of Breast Cancer and Gynaecology, Maria Luisa Herrera, reiterated the importance of the prevention of this illness, saying "this campaign is going to help us a lot. The quickest way to a cure is a quick prevention".

Fernando Fraile, Presidente de la AECC, was grateful for the chance to take part in this important campaign, and stressed "working to raise awareness in the local population. All the resources of this and other campaigns are going into our foundation to aid research into the fight against cancer". The fundamental collaboration of this campaign comes in the form of Ken-Tech which was represented by their head of Human Resources, Gema Arcas, who pointed out that "Ken-Tech couldn’t be left out of a campaign such as this. Our Administration Board is made up of women, and we feel at home with this campaign and any other kind of awareness-raising".

The presentation of the campaign was rounded off by UD Las Palmas manager Manolo Jiménez, who stated "human feelings will always come above football. For myself and the players it is an honour to take part in this type of event, and we give thanks to the club and their collaborators for confiding in us".

The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness in society about the importance of the prevention and early detection of breast cancer. To this end, the Foundation, with the collaboration of Ken-Tech  and the other associations, will be carrying out a range of events, such as the sale of pink shirts and bracelets for charity, among other things, so that the stadium will be a wave of pink colour on the day of the match at the Estadio Gran Canaria between UD Las Palmas and CD Numancia, on 20th October at 17:00, coinciding with World Breast Cancer Day, held on 19th October.

Both teams will run out onto the pitch on the day wearing the campaign shirts presented today, and the home side will be wearing the same colour worn by UD Las Palmas during the 2015/16 season.
