"I thank the president and Toni Otero for including me in their plans. I feel fine, and look forward to playing for another couple of years yet. As for goals, I don’t set myself a target as such, but I will do all I can to help get the club promoted, which is what we all want", were the first words by Rubén Castro.

"At Betis it was my responsibility to score goals, and I have come here to do the same. In this respect I don’t feel under any pressure. I was convinced that if I wasn’t going to stay at Betis the best team for me to continue playing at was UD Las Palmas".

Regarding his return to Las Palmas, he said "I am a club player, I gave my all for the team, and I am convinced the fans will be happy to have me back. I will play my heart out for the shirt of UD Las Palmas all my life", he stated.

The player confirmed also that Betis and Las Palmas will look for a date as soon as possible to play his testimonial match at the Estadio Benito Villamarín, as it was included in the clause of the termination of his contract with the Seville side.
