Quique Setién today declared at the press conference in the Estadio Gran Canaria that: "The game against Sporting de Gijón is extremely important for us. It will set us up for the rest of the season, and I have made the players see it that way", he said.

"We need to approach the game as if it were an end of season decider. They are not in the best of form but we cannot be over confident, we need to get out there all guns firing as they are dangerous opponents", he stated.

"We have got over the defeat against Atlético de Madrid and have drawn some positive conclusions against a team which is an example to follow. I hope that all we have learned this week will show against Sporting, I hope we come out strongly and with confidence. Not winning would be a great disappointment while winning will keep us bubbling", he insisted.

"I don’t know whether Prince Livaja are up for 90 minutes of football, Araujo and Montoro are still out, and Hernán is ill, and will not be considered for selection", he concluded.
