Pepe Mel: “We’ve got the quality to beat Cádiz”

The yellows’ trainer recognized the difficulty his side faces in tomorrow’s clash with Cádiz due to the structure in their play, but stated “we’ve got the quality to win, and we know the way we need to play to be able to stop them”.

There are no reactions yet. Be the first!

Pepe Mel explained his chosen squad given the absences of Maikel Mesa and Juan Cala, with the inclusion of second-team player Toni Robaina. “Cala is out through personal reasons, he has just been a dad and has to enjoy his special moment. As for Maikel he has taken a step forward and will be important in the run-in to the season. We have brought Toni in as we are looking for some fresh legs. It is not a matter of just throwing in young lads because we feel like it, they have to be good players. Making a debut and then not playing again is not good at all, but without opening the first team door to the second team the club will die”.

“Cádiz have had the same manager for a long time now, they are a team that fight hard, they are quick playing wide and we need to block these virtues and concentrate on our own in order to hurt them”, he stated with reference to tomorrow’s rivals at the Estadio Gran Canaria.

As for his future at the club he said he has had conversations with the Presidente, Miguel Ángel Ramírez, and the new Sports Director, Rocco Maiorino, pointing out “the people at the club, and the young people, are important to me. We understand where we are all coming from because we are moving ahead hand in hand. Between now and the end of the season we will finish with a good taste in the mouth”.
