Pepe Mel: “We have earned a deserved point”

Las Palmas’ manager said, following tonight’s draw in the Carlos Tartiere stadium, that “we deserved the point, the boys have worked really hard on a pitch that was becoming virtually unplayable”.

There are no reactions yet. Be the first!

Pepe Mel assessed his team’s draw this evening against Oviedo, saying “it’s a good point because we were behind in the match and we were able to get back on level terms. Our intention is to win all our matches, but I cannot criticise out players because they have fought to the end and have shown the right attitude”, adding “we have to carry on in this vein from the first minute next week in the Estadio Gran Canaria”.

“It would have been a pity to lose, as the players have given their all and didn’t deserve to lose” he said, after the efforts his team made at the tricky stadium in which the rain made playing football almost impossible.

The Madrid-born manager said he believed his side could still achieve their objective, as “there are still 27 points to play for and there is a long way to go”. To finish he spoke of Javi Castellano who was back in the starting line-up, saying “he looked really good and was very solid”.
