Pepe Mel said that he didn’t come to Las Palmas "to scrape 50 points. I want us to be as high in the league as possible, so we cannot drop points like we have today", adding that he is concerned that they should "think this a point gained".  "We have so many players sidelined week after week and that doesn’t give us any continuity" Mel explained. He believes that their opponents set up to give them a tough time given the precarious position they are in, saying "they were also unable to create chances".  He finished by praising the performance of Rubén Castro, who was back in action following injury, saying "he came on and had two chances. He is always threatening to score goals"; while also pointing to goalkeeper Álvaro. Valles, who "is also playing really well".
