Pepe Mel analysed this evening's game, and said "in the first half we needed time to settle on the pitch but in the second half we were superior to Real Zaragoza. The only thing we lacked was a goal. The team applied themselves well tonight given the team they were up against".

"The technical team are working hard to get the players to create goal-scoring chances, and it was clear that they just couldn't score" he pointed out, adding that this role was being played by Narváez "who unluckily for us has got injured". Mel spoke of Sergio Araujo and said there could be no blame placed on him "because he has been out of action for a long time, but if he keeps working hard the goals will come".

The manager spoke positively about the arrival of Aridai Cabrera at Las Palmas, saying "he will bring a lot to the team. He is a wide player who will do us a lot of good".
