Pepe Mel assessed his side’s defeat today at El Sadar and said “the injury to Galarreta upset our plans. We had to move Araujo and Maikel Mesa’s positions around, and that changed the game”.
“They never give up and beat you in every single duel, that is why they are where they are, they were the better side” he said of Osasuna, adding: “they play a simple kind of football and it works. Las Palmas should take note for the future”.
Maikel Mesa and Fidel returned to the starting line-up and the manager spoke of the Tenerife-born player’s fine performance, responding “there are just a few games left. There are players who are looking to prove themselves” he concluded.
