Pepe Mel: “A point gained should not feel like two points dropped”

Las Palmas manager stated that earning a point is not like losing, even though “it is so upsetting the way they drew level because it came from our own mistakes”.

Pepe Mel recognised that the Numancia were clearly the better side in the early stages of the match "until Fede Varela and Pedri switched positions. From that point on we began to get on top".

"The team do a lot of good things but at the end of the day it is the points that count" he pointed out. Mel explained that his team have a lot of things to learn "above all when we take the lead. We made two mistakes, one was to go for a second goal when we didn’t need it and the other was a poor clearance".

He finished by underlining that an away draw should not feel like a defeat, because "a point is a point, a step nearer 50 points", before adding "we need to be more forceful".
