Pako Ayestarán was clear on who was to blame for his side’s defeat, saying "the first one to hold up his hand for today’s loss is me, even though the result doesn’t reflect all that went on in the match". In terms of his team’s performance, he said "we couldn’t keep momentum in the game, we dropped out heads after the first two goals".
He then went on to talk about the week ahead, saying "we have to look at the things we need to improve on, and we have a lot of work to do" while adding, "we need to create a team spirit, not just when things are going well but when things are against us". The trainer also looked on the positive side, pointing out that "there is a load more potential in this team than we are showing, we can turn things around".
He recognised that the atmosphere in the dressing room after the defeat against Celta de Vigo was an angry one, "We are upset. Now what we need to do is to get back up and look ahead to competing in our next match", concluded Pako Ayestarán.
