Paco Jémez spoke to the media in his usual pre-match press conference and he put to bed the departure of Jonathan Viera from the squad, until now a key player in the team, saying "the matter is now concluded, I have given my opinion to those who needed to hear it, and it won’t change my playing style, in the dressing room we have some very talented players to replace him".

As for how he sees UD Las Palmas’ future, he said "the challenge was impossible when I arrived, and now we have made it a difficult one, but the simple fact we have achieved something not done before means it is worth seeing the job through".

"Leganés are a good team who are having a good season, but they have weaknesses like all teams. The game is fundamental to our future, and now is the time to show our worth" he said with reference to the match this Saturday in Butarque. Jémez spoke of players who haven’t had much playing time, and calls on them to show they can be important to the team. "I can see my players giving all they’ve got but they are aware there is still a little more to give. Now is the time for those who haven’t featured so much this season to take the responsibility and show they are worthy of starting games".

Pedro Bigas, who hasn’t featured over recent weeks, was also mentioned by his trainer, "his knee is still not working properly and although I am really sad for him I cannot include him in the team’s plans for now. Our medical team are assessing the situation," he concluded in the press room at the Estadio Gran Canaria.
