Manolo Jiménez: “We need to be sharper in front the rival’s goal”

“The game against Almería is not going to be an easy one, but we need to fight with what we have, to dominate the game and be sharper in front of goal”, said Manolo Jiménez on the eve of the match in Almería.

The manager highlighted the good form Almería have shown so far at home: “We are expecting a tough match against a complicated rival, who have only lost once at home this season so far”.

As for the fitness of striker Sergio Araujo, he stated: “He is getting better and stronger with every training session, he is still far from the finished article but he looks better every day”.

“The goals will come sooner or later, it is all about having good runs, and I hope many of our players have good goal-scoring runs. Obviously if you score the first goal you settle down much quicker for the rest of the game”, said Jiménez.

When asked about the mood of his squad, he said “we are fired up, excited and confident. When a team is superior, results will start coming sooner or later”.

Manolo Jiménez rounded off by talking about captain David García’s absence due to impending fatherhood: “He was doing a good job defensively, and he is an important player who will not be with us on this occasion, but for a happy family reason. There are things that are more important than football”.
