On being reminded of the first game between the two teams at the Sánchez Pizjuán he remarked: "That was an early season game which should prove to us that we can beat such a tough opponent as Sevilla. What happened there is now behind us", said Setién. "Both ourselves and Sevilla have improved a lot since that day".

"I am unsure about a few positions", he pointed out, making it clear that the players themselves still do not know who will be starting. "Sevilla have got a great team, whoever they play with. In this league, the only automatic selections are Messi y Ronaldo".

Setién hopes for Jonathan Viera to get the better of Vitolo. "They are two great players, a little different from one another, but with superb quality to be able to turn a game". He spoke of Sampaoli, the Sevilla manager. "He is an unquestionable trainer, from whom I could learn a lot".
