Quique Setién: "We didn’t deserve to lose"

UD Las Palmas’ manager Quique Setién said, at the end of tonight’s match against Espanyol, that his team didn’t deserve to lose. The trainer considers his side’s league position to still be "positive", as he thinks that they need just two more victories

"We were unlucky to lose. We put in a great effort, as within a minute we were one-nil down. It is a pity, because we didn’t lose faith even when we were 4-2 down. I am happy with the work we put in, although there are things we need to improve on. We now need to lift ourselves once more. Despite scoring three goals we weren’t that lucky", said Quique Setién.

The Las Palmas manager thought the push by Hernán Pérez on Hélder López “was a penalty". He spoke about the performance of goalkeeper Raúl Lizoain. "It was his turn tonight and I think he had a good game, despite not having played for so long. He couldn’t do anything about the goals", he stated.

Setién pointed out that "if we look at it positively we need two more wins to stay up. We would have definitely settled for that at the beginning of the season. However, I do think we deserve to have more points on the board".
